Follow this guide to safely transfer your visual workspaces and assets to a new machine or backup drive.

Workflow Steps

Step 1: Prepare the Export

  1. Right-click the root node of the project you want to move.
  2. Select Export Subtree.
  3. Choose the Full-Package Media Bundle (.fj) format.
  4. Save the file to your disk. FlowJoe compiles your tree database and packages all IndexedDB media files into the archive.

Step 2: Transfer the Package

Copy the .fj package onto an external drive or send it to your target machine using local transfer tools.

Step 3: Set up Preferences (Optional)

If you want your settings and playlists to match:
  1. Open Settings on your original machine.
  2. Click Export Preferences.
  3. Transfer and import the preference file on the new machine.

Step 4: Ingest on the New Computer

  1. Open FlowJoe on the new machine.
  2. Click Import from the top app menu.
  3. Choose your .fj package.
  4. Select Merge at Root or Overwrite to restore the project.
