Pet Joe is an optional 8-bit companion in the gallery. He is hidden by default and appears after the selected gallery has loaded.

Show, hide, and resize

Use the Pet Joe button in the app rail to show or hide him. Right-click Pet Joe and choose Settings to resize him. The slider ranges from 96 to 192 px in 8 px steps. Reset size returns him to 96 px, and FlowJoe remembers a size you choose.

What Pet Joe does

  • On startup, he appears at the right end of his gallery path, takes a coffee sip, then walks across the path. At either end, he stops for coffee and turns after the sip.
  • Hovering over him stops his travel and starts a coffee sip in place. After you move the pointer away, he completes the sip, turns, and resumes walking.
  • When you add or reorder a tree item or gallery item, he points toward that change.
  • When the global music player starts a song or changes tracks during playback, he dances for three seconds, facing the direction he was walking, then returns to Joe’s current activity.
Click Pet Joe to open or focus Joe chat. The buttons below him start a new chat or live dictation. Right-click for Hide Pet Joe and Settings. Pet Joe follows FlowJoe’s motion preferences. Reduced motion or disabled animations stop his travel and sprite animation. Joe’s accessible status remains available when Pet Joe is hidden.
