Click any gallery slot to open it full-size. This is where you actually view the media — the enlarged image, the scrollable PDF, the playing video — and it’s also where you can write and format that slot’s notes with the same rich-text editor used by Node Summary and Flow Summary. For what each file type looks like in this view, see Supported Media & Slots.

Editing Notes in Preview

The notes field inside Preview uses the same rich-text editor as the summary views:
  • Rich Formatting & Dropdowns: Heading styles (H1–H3, paragraph), text alignments (Left, Center, Right, Justify), advanced marks (Underline, Highlight, Inline Code, Subscript, Superscript), task lists / checklists, tables, blockquotes, and dividers.
  • Slash Commands & Bubble Menu: Type / to insert structural blocks quickly or select text to format on the fly with the floating formatting menu.
  • Undo/Redo: Cmd+Z / Cmd+Shift+Z (and the toolbar’s Undo/Redo icons) walk the same persistent history as the rest of FlowJoe, so your edits are still there to step back through after a reload.
  • Native Right-Click: Right-clicking in the editor opens your system’s standard menu (cut/copy/paste, spelling suggestions, etc.) — dictation and spell-check live on the toolbar here instead.
  • AI actions: Select some text (or just place your cursor in a paragraph) and click ✨ — on the toolbar, or in the floating menu that appears when you select text. Pick Improve, Fix grammar, Simplify, Shorten, Expand, Change tone, Translate, Turn into bullets, Summarize, or Continue writing, or choose Ask Joe… to give any other instruction. The suggestion streams in below your text as Joe writes it, then shows the changes highlighted once it’s done — Stop cancels a request in progress. You can Replace it, Insert it below instead, copy it, tweak it in the box before accepting, or discard it, and Cmd+Z undoes an accepted change.
  • Collapsible Sections & Block Actions: Wrap any selection into a collapsible section to tuck away detail, then un-collapse it later while keeping the content. Hover any block for quick duplicate, copy-to-clipboard, and delete actions — plus drag its handle to reorder blocks.
  • Images: Drag an image file straight onto the editor (or paste one) to insert it where you dropped it, or type /upload for a drop box. Click an image to align it, float it so text wraps around it, add a caption or alt text, and drag its corner to resize. Images are stored inside the note itself, so each file is limited to 4 MB — larger ones are skipped with a notice.
  • Emoji Shortcodes: Type : followed by a name — :fire, :check, :rocket — and pick from the popup.
  • Live Voice Dictation: Dictate hands-free using FlowJoe’s speech engine, including automatic spoken punctuation and line-break conversion.
  • Spellcheck Review: Built-in review makes editing clean and fast.
Gallery slot/stack notes on the card itself now use this same editor — same slash commands, emoji picker, markdown shortcuts, and floating bubble menu. The only difference is that the card-level note has no persistent toolbar (there’s no room on a card), so find-and-replace and the toolbar dropdowns are Preview/Summary-only, and the card note keeps its own right-click menu with Dictate Notes and Spelling & Grammar Check.
